Mrs. Clela Wilson Dies In Hospital

Clela M. Wilson, 79, of Everly House, Macomb, formerly of Table Grove, died at 6:15 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 27, 1983, in McDonough District Hospital, Macomb.

Born April 18, 1904, in Woodland Township, Fulton County, she was the daughter of Simeon and Rosetta (Onion) Trotter. She married Homer D. Wilson Dec. 25, 1936, in Chicago. He survives.

Also surviving is one brother, Harold Trotter of Adair.

She was preceded in death by six brothers, Dale, Kenneth, Russell, Dwight, Wayne and Jay; and a sister, Opal Galloway.

She was a member of the Table Grove Community Church, the Farmers Unit of Home Bureau and the Western University Branch of HEIH.

She lived in Eldorado Township during her childhood and graduated from Industry High School. She received a bachelor’s degree in home economics from Western Illinois State Teachers College in 1927. She taught school at Egypt Grade School, Sugar Grove High School, Mendota, Downers Grove, Joliet, Adair and Table Grove.

After her marriage she moved to a farm north of Table Grove.

She was the author of two books: “Desserts America Loves” and “Nutcracker Recipes.”

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday in her church. Burial was in Pennington Point Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation or the Glen Guy Heart Fund.
