Verne D. Wilson, 82, of 1121 Gardenia Ave., Long Beach, Calif., a former Astoria resident, died Monday morning, May 22, 1978, at 11 a.m. at his home in Long Beach.
He was born on Dec. 14, 1895, in Fulton County, Illinois. On Jan. 5, 1954, he was married to Hollie Mummert in Springfield. She survives.
Also surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Ketra Decker of Joliet; one son, Larry Wilson of Astoria; four grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; one brother, Hart Wilson of Astoria; and one sister, Mrs. Mae Haare of Adair.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday afternoon at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Rev. Wesley Wallace officiating. Burial will be in the Summum Cemetery.
Visitation will be Thursday afternoon and evening at the Memorial Home.
