Mrs. Sarah Wilson Dies At Age 96

Mrs. Sarah Wilson, 96, died Monday evening, Jan. 30, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Mae Haare of Marietta, following a ten-year illness. She was a lifetime resident of the Astoria area until going to live with her daughter a few years ago.

She was born March 18, 1870, near Summum, a daughter of John and Rebecca Krout Mummert. On March 8, 1888, she was united in marriage to Lincoln G. Wilson who preceded her in death on March 20, 1942.

Survivors include three children: Hart Wilson of Astoria, Mrs. Mae Haare of Marietta, and Vern D. Wilson of Long Beach, Calif.; 9 grandchildren, one of whom, Larry Wilson, was raised in her home; 16 great grandchildren; and 4 great, great grandchildren. Two sons preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at 2 p.m. in the Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Rev. Russell Fry officiating. Entombment will be in the Astoria Memorial Mausoleum.

Friends may call Wednesday afternoon and evening at the Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria.
