She was born May 19, 1923, in Canton, the daughter of John and Edna Dunning Opper. She married Harold Vaughn on Jan. 1, 1942, in Kahoka, Mo. He survives.
Also surviving are one son, Gene (and Judy) Vaughn of Washington, Ill.; two grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one brother, John Opper; and one daughter, Sandra Sue Vaughn.
She worked for U.S. Postal Service in Ipava, Astoria and Summum for 34 years, retiring in 1988.
She was a member of Ipava OES #226, Astoria American Legion Auxiliary and Astoria United Methodist Church.
Services were held Tuesday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Vince Opper officiating. Eastern Star services were provided by Ipava OES #226. Burial was in Astoria Cemetery.
