Robert Vaughn Sr.Robert Vaughn Sr.Robert E. Vaughn, Sr., 79, of Table Grove died at 6:43 p.m. July 4, 2012, in the emergency room at Mason District Hospital in Havana.
He was born Oct. 31, 1932, in Vermont, the son of Glenn and Helen Stremmel Vaughn. He married Patricia J. Hughes on May 30, 1952, in Ipava. She preceded him in death on April 20, 2008.
Surviving are four sons, Robert (and Susan) Vaughn Jr. of Vermont, Randall (and Brenda) Vaughn and Craig Vaughn, both of Table Grove and Chad (and Sheila) Vaughn of Ipava; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
He was a United States Army veteran from 1953-55, serving with the Heavy Mortar Company, 4th Infantry.
He was a lifelong farmer in the Vermont area.
He was a member of Ipava American Legion Post #17, 40 et 8 Voyageur 812 of Canton and VFW.
Services were held Sunday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Richard Chambers officiating. Private burial will take place at a later date.
