He was born April 4, 1954, in Fairbanks, Alaska, a son of Robert E. and Janice Hughes Vaughn Sr. He married Susan J. (Selph) Vaughn on March 19, 1977. She preceded him in death on July 4, 2016.
He also was preceded in death by his parents.
Surviving are two daughters, Haily J. (and Jed) Rhoades of Canton and Karly D. (and Charlie) Hite of Industry; three brothers, Randy (and Brenda) Vaughn and Craig (and Cindy Heller) Vaughn, both of Table Grove, and Chad Vaughn of Ipava; and four grandchildren.
He was a lifelong farmer and with his wife, Susan, they owned/operated Vaughn Farms in Vermont. In his younger years, he had worked for AMAX Coal at the Sun Spot Mine, and later for the Ayrshire Land Company alfalfa plant, where he was a welder.
He was currently serving his fourth term as the Road Commissioner for Vermont Township.
Funeral services were held Tuesday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria. Burial was in Vermont Township Cemetery. Oaks-Hines Funeral Home in Canton and Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria were in charge of arrangements.
