Frank Utter

Frank Utter, 90, of Browning died at 9:55 p.m. July 27, 2014, at Snyder’s Vaughn-Haven Nursing Home in Rushville.

He was born Nov. 7, 1923, in Frederick Twp., Schuyler County, a son of George William and Stella Orr Utter.

He married Ruth Higgins on March 1, 1947, in Rushville. She preceded him in death on Nov. 4, 2002.

He also was preceded in death by two sisters, Margaret (who died in infancy) and Beulah Ogden; and two brothers, Arthur Utter and Harlan Utter.

Surviving are two sons, Larry (and Cindy) Utter of Jacksonville, and Danny (and Jolyn) Utter of Rushville; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

He was a life-long farmer.

He was a member of Frederick Christian Church “Disciples of Christ”, Schuyler Farm Bureau and Schuyler County Pork Producers. He received the FFA Lifetime Achievement Award in 1971. He was a Bainbridge Twp. trustee for many years and later, Browning Twp. clerk.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Worthington Funeral Home in Rushville with Rev. Matt Haberman officiating. Burial will follow in Messerer Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
