Beulah Ogden

Beulah M. Utter Ogden, 80, of rural Rushville, died at 12:35 a.m. Monday, Dec. 12, 2005, at Snyder's Vaughn-Haven Nursing Home in Rushville.

She was born Jan. 30, 1925, in Bainbridge Township near Frederick, a daughter of George W. and Stella Orr Utter. She married Clinton Ogden on Feb. 26, 1950, in Rushville. He survives.

Also surviving is one brother, Frank Utter of Browning.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Arthur and Harlan; and one infant sister, Margaret.

She graduated from Western Illinois University in 1949. She taught school in Bluff City, Frederick, Browning and Rushville for 32 years, retiring in 1980. She also helped her husband with farming.

She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Rushville, Schuyler-Brown Retired Teachers Association, a life member of the National Education Association, Illinois Education Association, Western Illinois University Alumni Association and the Sarah D. Culbertson Memorial Hospital Auxiliary.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Worthington Funeral Home in Rushville with Rev. Mary Arnold officiating. Visitation is tonight from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Rushville City Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to her church or the Schuyler Chapter of the American Cancer Society.
