IDA FERN (THOMSON) ULMER

Ida Ulmer

Ida Fern Ulmer, 89, of Macomb, formerly of Bushnell, died at 7:23 p.m. Saturday, March 23, 1996, at the Elms Nursing Home in Macomb.

She was born Aug. 14, 1906, in Table Grove, a daughter of William M. and Ida C. Wilson Thomson. She married Henry D. Ulmer on June 3, 1925, in Macomb. He died Nov. 11, 1995. One son, Duane, four brothers and two sisters also preceded her in death.

Surviving are one daughter, Betty K. Beasley of Quincy; four grandchildren; and eight grandchildren.

She and her husband farmed in the Table Grove area for almost 50 years before retiring and moving to Bushnell and later to the Everly House in Macomb. She was a member of Point Pleasant United Methodist Church in McDonough County, where she taught Sunday school for many years. She also was a member of the Busy Bees Club. She was a former member of the Homemakers Extension.

Funeral services were held Tuesday at Martin-Hollis Funeral Home with Rev. Mary Jo Williams officiating. Burial was in Bushnell Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to her church or the Elms Nursing Home.
