He was born Oct. 5, 1939, in Lincoln, a son of Harold and Bertha Jones Tarvin. He married Caroline Sue Hamm on Jan. 26, 1964, in McHenry County. She preceded him in death on March 6, 2014.
Surviving are two sons, Eric Tarvin of Astoria and Gary Alan Tarvin of Sacramento, Calif.; one daughter, Lisa of Sacramento, Calif.; and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one brother, John Tarvin.
He was a general manager for K-Mart. He also worked construction.
There will be no services. Cremation Rites have been accorded. Burial will be in Sheldons Grove Cemetery at a later date. Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria is in charge of arrangements.
