Caroline "Sue" TarvinCaroline “Sue” Tarvin, 70, of Astoria died at 6:55 p.m. March 6, 2014, at her home.

She was born Aug. 12, 1943, in Peoria, a daughter of Dale Hamm and Berenice Wainio Hamm Oest. She married Gary A. Tarvin on Jan. 26, 1964, in McHenry County. He survives.

Also surviving are one son, Eric Tarvin of Astoria; stepmother, Betty Hamm of Bath; two brothers, Ronald (and Rosemary) Hamm of Peoria and Donald (and Pam) Hamm of Astoria; one sister, Marilyn Ford of Canton; and two grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and stepfather, Vernon Oest.

She was vice president of Palos Bank and Trust and First State Bank of Palos Hills for 35 years. She also worked for Mid-American National Bank in Macomb and Federal Reserve at Greater Peoria Airport in Peoria.

She was a Kerton Township Trustee.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Bluff City Community Church with Pastor Wayne Curless officiating. Cremation rites have been accorded. Inurnment will take place at a later date. Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be made to Fulton County Humane Society or Graham Hospital Hospice.
