Paul Thomson

Paul E. Thomson, age 88, of Bushnell, and formerly of the Cuba area, died at 10:45 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 16, 1995, at McDonough District Hospital in Macomb.

He was born Dec. 4, 1907, at Farmers Twp., Fulton County, a son of Abner and Emma (Smith) Thomson. He married Mignon Elie on Feb. 1, 1933, at St. Onge, S.D. She survives.

Also surviving are four sons and one daughter as follows: David Thomson of Marietta; Donald Thomson of Chicago; Leroy Thomson of Aurora, Colo.; Robert Thomson of Cuba; and Mrs. Dean “Darlene” Bennett of LaHarpe; 12 grandchildren; 5 step-grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and 3 step-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded by one son, Gale Thomson; one great-granddaughter; three brothers and three sisters.

He farmed most of his life in the Cuba, Smithfield and Marietta area. He also worked at the former International Harvester plant in Canton for a number of years. He was a member of the Cuba Christian Church, and also drove a school bus for Cuba Schools for 19 years.

Funeral services were held Tuesday at Henry Memorial Home in Cuba with Rev. Ken Bloyd officiating. Burial was in Temple Cemetery at rural Table Grove.
