MIGNON ELIZABETH (ELIE) THOMSON

Mignon Thomson

Mignon Elizabeth Thomson, 83, of LaHarpe, formerly of Bushnell and rural Cuba, died at 1:38 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 11, 1997, at McDonough District Hospital in Macomb.

She was born Nov. 23, 1913, in Terraville, S.D., a daughter of Eugene and Golda Marks Elie. She married Paul Ernest Thomson on Feb. 1, 1933, in St. Onge, S.D. He died Dec. 16, 1995. One son, Gale, one grandchild, one brother and one sister also preceded her in death.

Surviving are four sons, David Thomson of Marietta, Donald Thomson of Chicago, Leroy Thomson of Bellevue, Nev., and Robert Thomson, of Cuba; one daughter, Darlene Bennett of LaHarpe; two brothers, Eugene Elie of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, and Gordon Elie of Petaluma, Calif.; one sister, Ruby Strode of Peoria; 12 grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and three step-great-grandchildren.

She was a member of Cuba Christian Church.

Services were held Friday at Henry Memorial Home in Cuba with Rev. Ken Bloyd officiating. Burial was in Temple Cemetery in rural Table Grove.

Memorials may be made to her church or to LaHarpe Senior Citizens Center.
