Bernice Taber Of Ipava Dies

Bernice E. Taber, 82, of Ipava, died at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 6, 1990, at Prairie City Nursing Center in Prairie City.

She was born Sept. 7, 1908, in Ipava, a daughter of Lewis C. and Alice Walters Branson. She married Clive H. Marquess. He died June 17, 1945. She married Gail E. Taber on March 31, 1946, in Ipava. He survives.

Also surviving are four stepdaughters, Imogene Hammond, Caroline Yazvec and Ann Wys, all of Ipava, and Almalee Johnson of Bushnell; 13 step-grandchildren; 24 step-great-grandchildren; and one step-great, great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by one son and three sisters.

She was a member of the Ipava Christian Church where she served as organist for several years. She was a 50-year member of the Ipava Chapter Order of Eastern Star.

Funeral services were held Friday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Ipava. Burial was in the Ipava Cemetery.
