D. Josie Taylor Dies At Age 38

Doris Josie Taylor, 38, of rural Chandlerville, formerly of Astoria, died at 8 p.m. on Sept. 9, 1990, at McDonough District Hospital in Macomb.

She was born Aug. 25, 1952, in Beardstown, a daughter of Richard and Norma Anderson Powell. She was first married to Rudy Haubensak. On Dec. 17, 1983, she was married to Tom Taylor. He survives.

Also surviving are three children, Katrina Haubensak, Raina Haubensak, and Jimmy Haubensak III, all of Chandlerville; her parents, Richard and Norma Powell of Astoria; her grandmother, Evelyn Anderson of Beardstown; two sisters, Linda Hackett of Lewistown and Janey Sargent of Rushville; one brother, Carl Powell of Lewistown; and several nieces and nephews.

She was a member of the Hopewell Baptist Church of Snicarte and the Astoria Christian Church. She was active in 4-H as long as her health permitted. She was a Licensed Practical Nurse and worked for Dr. Gordon Stephens. She was a manager of Pizza Hut in Havana for several years. She was last employed by B & B Motors as a secretary.

Mrs. Taylor was a 1970 graduate of Astoria High School and Spoon River School of Nursing in 1973.

Graveside services will be this afternoon at Fairview Cemetery in Lynchberg Township, Mason County, at 2 p.m. with Rev. Gilbert Fletcher and Rev. Mark Kaley officiating.

Hurley Funeral Home in Havana was in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
