Richard “Dick” Powell

Richard “Dick” Powell, 86, of Astoria died at 5:53 p.m. Sept. 4, 2015, at home.

He was born Nov. 26, 1928, in Astoria, the son of Irma Jane Powell. He married Norma Anderson on Dec. 17, 1950, in Beardstown. She survives.

Also surviving are one son, Carl (and Debbie) Powell of Lewistown; two daughters, Linda (and Ike) Hackett of Lewistown and Janey (and Mike) Ford of Rushville; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by one daughter, Josie Haubensak; one sister, Betty Parker; and two great-grandchildren.

He was a contractor and built many homes in Astoria. He was a licensed plumber and worked for the Town of Astoria.

He was a member of the Merchant Marines and Astoria Fire Department.

Cremation rites have been accorded. There will be no services. Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria was in charge of arrangements.
