JAMES F. “RUDY” HAUBENSAK JR.

James F. “Rudy” Haubensak Jr., 48, of Jacksonville, formerly of Havana, died at 11:10 p.m. Friday, March 27, 1998, at Passavant Hospital in Jacksonville.

He was born Sept. 29, 1949, in Beardstown, a son of James F. Sr. and Elre Merrill Haubensak. He married Doris Josie Powell on Sept. 13, 1973. She preceded him in death.

Surviving are his parents of Jacksonville; one son, Jimmy “Barney” of Jacksonville; two daughters, Katrina Haubensak of Margate, N.J., and Raina Haubensak of Riverton; one brother, Larry of Havana; and one sister, Sue Lahey of Jacksonville.

He was a Vietnam War Navy veteran, serving with the Seabees. He was a mechanic at Fiat Proving Grounds near Browning for 10 years and then at the United Parcel Service in Jacksonville for the past 12 years.

Services were held Tuesday at Hurley Funeral Home with Rev. Jeff Noah officiating. Burial was in Laurel Hill Cemetery, where military rites were conducted by Havana Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6408.
