Clem Tippey Dies Saturday

Clem Tippey, 79, of Route 2, Astoria, died at 10:15 p.m. Saturday, March 2, at Mason District Hospital in Havana.

He was born in Kerton Township on Aug. 14, 1894, the son of Ellsworth and Lillie Beaty Tippey. He married Grace Dutton on June 2, 1917, in Lewistown. She survives.

Also surviving are four sons, Kenneth Tippey of Reedsport, Ore., Keith Tippey of Macomb, Willis Tippey of Astoria and Ralph Lewis Tippey of Canton; 15 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; two brothers, Clayton Tippey of Brooklyn and Lawrence Tippey of Havana; and two sisters, Mrs. Verna McCody of Minneapolis, Minn. and Mrs. Pearl Fisk of Peoria.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday afternoon at Shawgo Memorial Home with Rev. James Freisner officating. Burial was in the Summum Cemetery.
