Peter D. Springs, 59, of Macomb, formerly of Vermont, died at 7:45 p.m. May 18, 2023, at Macomb Post Acute Care.
He was born Jan. 20, 1964, in Rushville, the son of Howard and Patsy Umphryes Springs.
Surviving are six aunts, Nancy Hayes, Susan Jackson and Donna Raudabaugh, all of Vermont, Lona Jo (and Bill) Wagner of Belleville, Rosie (and Gary) Wece of Murphysboro and Betsy Umphryes of Centralia; and two uncles, Richard Umphryes of Caseyville and Jon Umphryes of Vermont.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and one uncle, Henry Umphryes.
He participated in the Special Olympics for several years.
Cremation rites have been accorded. A graveside memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at Mount Zion Cemetery in Astoria with Pastor Matthew Thiner officiating. There will be no visitation. Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria is in charge of arrangements.
