He was born Dec. 31, 1940, in Astoria, a son of Cleve and Nellie Derry Stambaugh. He married Brenda Sours on Dec. 23, 1978, in Summum. She survives.
Also surviving are one daughter, Kathy (and Ed) Monette of Paragould, Ark.; two sons, Larry (and Tammy) Stambaugh Jr. of Astoria and Greg (and Ashley) Stambaugh of West Lafeyette, Ind.; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one infant son; one daughter, Deborah Scott; three brothers, Richard Cline “Breezy” Stambaugh, Wayne Stambaugh and Eugene Stambaugh; one sister, Louise McMullen; and one stepbrother, Max Stambaugh.
He worked at International Havester for 37 years, Stambaugh Construction for 12 years and he farmed. He was a member of UAW #974.
Cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial service was held Saturday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria. Burial will be in the Summum Cemetery at a later date.
