Harold Spencer Jr.

Harold Harding Spencer Jr., 74, of Luray, Va., died Dec. 21, 2021, at Winchester Medical Center.

He was born March 31, 1947, a son of Margaret Smith Spencer of Astoria and the late Harold Harding Spencer Sr. He married Alice Sims on Dec. 20, 1969.

Surviving in addition to his mother and his wife are two sons, Stephen Spencer of Massachusetts and David Spencer of Culpeper, Va.; five brothers, Bob, Gailen, Ronnie, David and John, all of Astoria; one sister, Chris Sisson of North Dakota; and two grandchildren of Culpeper.

He was preceded in death by one daughter, Heather Spencer.

He worked as a teacher at Mount Carmel Christian Academy and had served as pastor of Sunset Drive Baptist Church. He was a Navy veteran.

Services will be held Friday at Sunset Drive Baptist Church with burial at Culpeper Veterans Cemetery. Bradley Funeral Home in Luray is in charge of arrangements.
