She was born Nov. 27, 1937, in Kerton Township, Fulton County, the daughter of Ross C. and Mary L. Alexander Wilson. She married Bernard C. Shawgo on June 26, 1955, in Astoria. He survives.
Also surviving are one daughter, Cindy (and Hollis) Shafer of Germantown Hills; two sons, Doug (and Lori) Shawgo of Plant City, Fla., and Jeff (and Sonya) Shawgo of Astoria; one sister, Shirley Deary of Minooka; one brother, Jerry (and Jobie) Wilson of Petersburg; eight grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
She assisted with the family business, Shawgo Memorial Home, for most of her lifetime.
She was a member of Grace Bible Church in Astoria, where she was a former youth director, assisted in the children’s ministry and played the piano and organ in her younger years.
Services were held Monday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Pastor Ben Murray officiating. Burial was in the Astoria Cemetery.
