Marilyn StolpMarilyn Joan Stolp, 79, of Brooklyn died at 9:38 p.m. July 24, 2018, at her home.

She was born Sept. 12, 1938, near Clayton, a daughter of James Henry and Verna Roberta Syrcle Clark. She married Luther “Oley” Stolp on Dec. 2, 1955, in Hernando, Miss. He preceded her in death on Jan. 20, 2015.

She also was preceded in death by one son, Randy Lee “Fuzz” Stolp.

Surviving are two sons, James O. Stolp (and companion Susan Coldwell) of Rushville and Tony Dale Stolp of Brooklyn; two daughters, Linda Jo Herche of Rushville and Jacqueline Kay (and John) Goddard of Littleton; one sister, Marilee Wheeler of Beardstown; 13 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

She attended school in Golden, Camp Point and Clayton and Central High School. She worked at St. Francis Hospital, the Ford Hopkins Drugstore and Western Illinois University, all in Macomb. She also worked for Collins Radio in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

She was a member of Clayton Christian Church.

She was a housewife and a partner in farming with her husband for 40 years.

Funeral services were held Monday at Worthington Funeral Home in Rushville with Rev. Robert Kirkham officiating. Burial was in Blackburn Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to MDH Hospice in Macomb.
