She was born July 12, 1926, in Rushville, a daughter of Daniel and Edna Walker Dace. She married Harold E. Stephens on July 14, 1944, in Rushville. He survives.
Also surviving are one son, William T. (and Diana) Stephens of Macomb; two daughters, Nancy J. (and Constance Sanders) Stephens of Scottsdale, Ariz., and Julie Dace (and Susan) Murray of Rollo, Mo.; one brother, Charles Dace of Rushville; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Marjorie Bigham and Elizabeth Forman.
She was a graduate of Rushville High School with the class of 1944 and graduated from Western Illinois University in 1973. She taught school in Rushville until retirement in 1986. She was a member of Rushville First Presbyterian Church and the Rushville Retired Teachers Association.
Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at her church with Mr. David Haney officiating. Inurnment will follow in Rushville City Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Worthington Funeral Home in Rushville is in charge of arrangements.
