She was born Oct. 5, 1929, in Astoria, a daughter of Charles D. and Lillie I. Woodford Smith. She married Robert R. Spencer on Oct. 23, 1948, in Rushville. He preceded her in death on Nov. 27, 2015.
Also preceding her in death was one brother, Lynn Smith.
Surviving are one daughter, Melody (and Dan) Smith of Branson, Mo.; two sons, Robert D. (and Ruth) Spencer of Knoxville, Tenn., and Daryl Spencer of Orange Beach, Ala.; one sister, Joyce Chaplin of Walled Lake, Mich.; two brothers, Ivan Smith and Stan (and Barbara) Smith, both of Rushville; seven grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was a housewife and a non-denominational Christian.
Services were held Monday at Worthington Funeral Home in Rushville with Mr. Jeffrey Vogelzang and Mr. Scott Hanks officiating. Burial followed in the Rushville City Cemetery.
