David Severns

David Leroy Severns, 67, died at 9:54 a.m. June 6, 2015, at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.

He was born March 9, 1948, in Beardstown, the son of Warren W. “Bill” and Donna Jean Pryor Severns. He married Linda Struble on April 8, 1966, in Browning. She survives.

Also surviving are two daughters, Shelly Johnson and Marcy (and Dwayne) Brunswig; one son, David (and Jennifer) Severns; and seven grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Kay Dodds and Marilyn Severns.

He graduated from Beardstown High School.

He served in the U.S. Army from 1967-71 where he did two tours of duty in Vietnam.

He was retired from IBEW Local 51 and was a member of the Guthrie Pierce Post #1239, Veterans of Foreign Wars and Beardstown Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks #1007.

There will not be a funeral service. A visitation will be held from 3-5 p.m. Wednesday at the Worthington Funeral Home in Rushville.

Memorials may be made to the donor’s choice and may be left at the funeral home.
