She was born April 14, 1952, in Canton, a daughter of Babs and Joe Curless. She married Roger Starkey. He preceded her in death.
She also was preceded in death by her parents.
Surviving are four children, Tracy, Michelle, Nicole, and Rebecca Irwin; one brother, Harley (and Kay) Curless; two sisters, Linda (and Steve) Chase and Jan (and Norman) Jones; and three grandchildren.
Known unequivocally for her hard work ethic, you could find her at Babs Delta Diner for the past 22 years until she retired in September of 2013. She was the manager of her mother’s restaurant as she held every employee to a high standard of excellence teaching them responsibility, work ethic and the value of giving 100 percent.
Visitation will be held at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 15, at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria, followed by Celebration of Life at 7 p.m. Family and friends are invited.
