Carolyn SaundersCarolyn M. Saunders, 83, of Astoria died at 11:50 p.m. Jan. 30, 2012, at Heartland Healthcare Center in Macomb.

She was born April 26, 1928, in Canton, a daughter of Clarence Henry and Mary Whitney Kinsel. She married Charles Lee Saunders on Jan. 5, 1945. He preceded her in death on Aug. 4, 1955. She then married Howard William Foutch on Aug. 1, 1957.

She also was preceded in death by two brothers, Jake and Clarence "Poke" Kinsel.

Surviving are two sons, Eddie (and Mary Hubbs) Saunders of Canton and Terry (and Marla) Saunders of Orange Lake, Fla.; one daughter, Pam (and Tommy) Trone of Astoria; two stepdaughters, Tamara (Foutch) Martin and Sheila (Foutch) Tacco; one stepson, Robert Foutch; three brothers, Sherman "Bud" (and Linda) Kinsel and Robert (and Lucille) Kinsel, both of Canton and William (and Reena) Kinsel of Springfield, Ohio; two sisters, Joyce (and Ronnie) Johnson of Canton and Doris (and Ronny) Simmons of Bluff City; nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

She worked at E-Z Plumbing, Farm King and in the dietary department of Graham Hospital, all in Canton.

She was a member of Woodland Church of the Brethren in Astoria, Astoria HEA and Fulton County Garden Tractor Pullers Association.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Pastor Greg Beach officiating. Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery in Canton.
