Glen StambaughGlen Edward Stambaugh, 84, of Macomb died Dec. 28, 2011, at Wesley Healthcare Center.

He was born May 14, 1927, in Vermont, the son of Glen and Bernice Foutch Stambaugh. He married Gladys VanVelsor on Dec. 5, 1947, in Prairie City. She survives.

Also surviving are two daughters, Terri (and Larry) McMullen of Anamosa, Iowa, and Debra Stambaugh of Indianola, Iowa; one sister, Joan Bradshaw of Galesburg; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by one infant sister.

He attended school in the Adair schools and farmed all of his life around the Adair area. They retired in 1993 and moved to Macomb.

He was a member of Berean Christian Church in Ipava.

He served as a school board member of Bardolph Community School District, McDonough County Farm Bureau and New Salem Fire Protection District.

A celebration of life service was held Saturday at his church. Cremation has been accorded. Inurnment will be in Prairie City Cemetery at a later date. Dodsworth-Piper-Wallen Funeral Home in Macomb is in charge of arrangements.
