Vera Simpson, 91, died Monday, April 10, 2006, at Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge.
She was born June 2, 1914, in rural Ipava, a daughter of Eli and Maggie Weber Burgard. She married Guy "Leroy" Simpson on Nov. 25, 1938. He died Sept. 26, 2005.
Also preceding her in death were three brothers, William, Ezra and Harold; one brother who died in infancy; and one sister, Clara.
Surviving are one daughter Veda (and Bill) Neumann; and five grandchildren.
She and her husband left Fulton County after World War II, living in Chicago until 1952, then building a house in suburban Park Ridge.
Burial was in the Township of Maine Cemetery in Park Ridge.
A memorial service for Vera and Guy Leroy Simpson will be held at Ipava Presbyterian Church on Saturday, Aug. 12, 2006.
