Philip Snedeker

Philip SnedekerPhilip L. Snedeker, 82, of Ipava died at 2:20 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2002, at Mason Dist. Hospital in Havana.

He was born Dec. 7, 1919, in St. Louis, the son of Clinton O. and Marjorie Mooney Snedeker. He married Bette Jean Davis on May 29, 1949, in Dodge City, Kan. She died March 25, 1996.

He also was preceded in death by one daughter, Deborah.

Surviving are one son, Michael (and Karen) of Havana; and four grandchildren.

He was a manager at Ipava Farmers Elevator for 35 years and worked for Skiles Fertilizer Service in Astoria for 10 years.

A member of Sigma Nu fraternity, he attended Gem City Business College in Quincy and Colorado A&M University in Fort Collins, Colo.

He was a member of United Presbyterian Church in Ipava.

Services were held Saturday at his church with Rev. Kevin Kessler officiating. Burial was in Ipava Cemetery. Shawgo Memorial Home in Ipava was in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be made to Culbertson Gardens in Rushville or Mason Dist. Hospital in Havana.
