LYNDEL L. SCHNARR SR.

VeteranLyndel Schnarr Sr.

Lyndel L. Schnarr Sr., 53, of rural Lewistown, formerly of Cuba, died at 1:08 p.m. Friday, July 28, 2000, at Graham Hospital Extended Care in Canton.

He was born Feb. 24, 1947, in Macomb, the son of Gus L. and Rosalee Derry Schnarr. He married Kathleen Bosanco on April 25, 1980, in Lewistown. She survives.

Also surviving are his parents of Lewistown; one son, Lyndell Jr., at home; one daughter, Regina (and Roy) Robinson of Cuba; one grandchild; and three sisters, Linda (and Larry) Smith of New Palestine, Ind., Lorenda (and Alvin) Spilker of Lewistown and Mary (and Allan) Woodruff of Cuba.

He was a custodian at Western Illinois University in Macomb until 1995, where he was a union steward. He operated Schnarr's Arcade in Cuba.

He served in the Navy for five years during the Vietnam War and was a member of Russell Smith American Legion Post in Cuba and Lewistown Veterans of Foreign Wars Post.

He was a member of various car clubs.

He attended the Cuba United Methodist Church.

Services were held Tuesday at Henry Memorial Home in Cuba with Rev. Greg Goforth officiating. Burial was in the Vermont Cemetery, where military rites were accorded by his American Legion post.
