Ellen Schisler

Ellen E. Schisler, 78, of Good Hope, died at 12:06 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 11, 1999, at her home.

She was born Oct. 16, 1921, in Ipava, a daughter of Hardy and Lily Johnson France. She married Clare D. Schisler on Aug. 11, 1940. He died June 6, 1992.

One son and two sisters also preceded her in death.

Surviving are three sons, Max (and Donna) of Rudolph, Ohio, John (and Deanna) of Coatsburg and Ron of Good Hope; five daughters, Carrie (and Vern) Moulton of Portland, Ore., Elaine (and Jerry) Churchill of Roseville, Idella (and Don) Sharp of Silvis, Linda (and Doug) Wilkins and Kathie (and Hap) Voorhees, both of Galesburg; one brother, Charles (and Rosie) France of Ipava; 12 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

She was a cook for Saga Foods and the Sigma Sigma Sigma Sorority at Western Illinois University for many years.

She was a member of the Walnut Grove Methodist Church in Walnut Grove, the Walnut Grove Missionary Sunshine Circle and the Center Community Club.

Services were held today at her church with Rev. Brad Shoemaker officiating. Burial was in Good Hope Cemetery. Martin-Hollis Funeral Home in Bushnell was in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be made to her church or the McDonough District Hospital Hospice Program.
