Clare Schisler

Clare D. Schisler, 79, of Good Hope, died at 6:15 a.m. Saturday, June 6, 1992, at his residence.

He was born Mar. 11, 1913, in Ipava, a son of William and Della Grove Schisler. He married Ellen France on Aug. 11, 1940, in Ipava.

She survives, along with three sons, Max of Rudolph, Ohio, John of Camp Point, and Ron of Good Hope; five daughters, Mrs. Jerry (Elaine) Churchill of Roseville, Mrs. Verne (Carrie) Moulton of Portland, Ore., and Mrs. Idella Huston, Mrs. Doug (Linda) Wilkins, and Mrs. Hap (Kathie) Voorhees, all of Galesburg; and 12 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one son, Delbert Devere Schisler, and two brothers.

A farmer in the Good Hope area for 40 years, he was also a self-employed carpenter. He was a former member of the Good Hope Lions Club and a member of the Walnut Grove Methodist Church.

Funeral services were held Tuesday at his church with Rev. Peggy Richards officiating. Interment was in the Good Hope Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Galesburg Rescue Mission or the Good Hope Senior Citizens Organization.

Martin-Hollis Funeral Home in Bushnell was in charge of arrangements.
