Barbara T. Smith, 71, of Muncie, Ind., formerly of Macomb, died Thursday, Jan. 14, 1999, at her home.
She was born in Macomb.
Surviving are her husband, Shelby; one son, David of Minneapolis; one daughter, Deanne Guarin-Brunke of Tempe, Ariz.; four brothers, Wendell Tingley of Colorado Springs, Colo., Merle Tingley of Vermont, Ted Tingley of Estelle Springs, Tenn., and Gale Tingley of Florissant, Colo.; one sister, Elizabeth Martin of Macomb; and five grandchildren.
One brother and one sister preceded her in death.
She was a secretary in the business department at Ball State University and for J.F. Long accounting firm. She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi sorority and St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church in Muncie.
Services were held Tuesday at Dodsworth-Piper-Wallen Funeral Home in Macomb. Burial was in Oakwood Cemetery in Macomb.
Memorials may be made to Minnetrista Cultural Center or Ball State University Foundation.
