JERRY L. SCALF

Jerry Scalf

Jerry L. Scalf, 57, of the Prairie View Health Care Center in Lewistown and formerly of Canton, died at 11:00 p.m. Monday, Dec. 4, 1995, at the care center.

He was born Feb. 5, 1938, in Liverpool Twp., Fulton County, a son of Esta D. and Mary (Burton) Scalf. He married Nina Goforth on April 14, 1956, at Lewistown. They are divorced.

Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Eldon (Linda) Chipman of Lewistown, Mrs. Jerry (Julie) Bohler of Canton, and Mrs. Alvin (Lori) Bucher of Astoria; nine grandchildren; and two brothers, Jack E. Scalf of Washington, and Carl N. Scalf of Albuquerque, N.M.

He was preceded in death by both parents, two brothers, and one sister.

He formerly worked for the Freeman United Electric Coal Company Banner Mine, and had been a member of various area organizations.

Funeral services will be held at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Henry Memorial Home in Lewistown with Rev. Barbara Short officiating. Visitation will be Thursday from 6 p.m. until time of services. Cremation will be accorded with following services.

Memorials may be made to Spoon River Hospice Association or the Illinois Street Christian Church in Lewistown.
