Flora Sears Of Industry Dies

Flora Mable Sears, 89, of the Everly House in Macomb for the past six months, formerly of Industry, died at 11:28 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 14, 1990, at McDonough District Hospital in Macomb.

She was born March 21, 1901, in McDonough County, a daughter of Roswell and Lizzy Baymiller Pennington. She married Harold Sears on Oct. 25, 1922. He died Feb. 13, 1970.

She also was preceded in death by one brother and two sisters.

Surviving are one son, Gerald of Adair; one daughter, Margaret Swearingen of Industry; six grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

She lived her early life in Adair and moved to Industry in 1955. She attended Industry United Methodist Church and was a member of the West Prairie Church.

She was a member of the Industry Women’s Club and a charter and life member of the McDonough District Hospital Auxiliary. She was a charter member of the Home Extension since 1929.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. this morning at Clugston-Tibbitts Funeral Home in Macomb with Rev. Donna Medlock and Marshall Litchfield officiating. Burial will be in Industry Cemetery.
