Marjorie Self Of Galesburg Dies

Mrs. Marjorie Self, 74, of Galesburg, formerly of Beardstown, died at 7:20 a.m. Sunday, June 24, 1990, at Cottage Hospital in Galesburg.

She was born Aug. 2, 1915 at Snicarte, the daughter of Earl and Nettie Smith Spencer. She married Monroe Self Aug. 7, 1933 in Beardstown. He survives.

Also surviving are two sons, Wayne Self of San Diego, Calif. and John William Self of Indianapolis, Ind.; one daughter, Wilma Hendon of Choctaw, Oklahoma; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; one sister, Myrtle Phelps of Beardstown; four brothers, Russell Spencer of Beardstown; Wilmer Spencer of Havana; George Spencer of Pekin; and Harold Spencer of Ipava; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and three sisters.

She was a member of the First Christian Church of Beardstown.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 26, at Cline Funeral Home in Beardstown with Rev. David Hastings of the First Christian Church officiating. Burial was in Beardstown City Cemetery.
