DOROTHY M. (WHERLEY) STEGALL

Dorothy Stegall Dies At Age 68

Mrs. Dorothy M. Stegall, 68, of rural Abingdon died at 5:07 a.m. Sunday, July 5, 1987, at St. Mary's Hospital in Galesburg.

She was born March 5, 1919, in Table Grove, a daughter of George and Gladys (Ring) Wherley. She married Burdette M. Stegall March 21, 1964, in rural Abingdon. He survives.

Other survivors include a brother, Ronald "Jack" Wherley of rural Abingdon; and two sisters, Mrs. James (Margaret) Howard of Glendive, Mont., and Mrs. John (Shirley) Dickson of Jackson, Mich.

She lived in the Abingdon area most of her life where she formerly worked at the Gamble Store. She was a homemaker and was an active volunteer for the Abingdon Community Fall Festival Association.

Graveside services were held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Abingdon Cemetery with Rev. Charles Witte officiating.

Memorials may be made to the Knox County Nursing Home Shelter.
