Earl R. Settles Of Rushville Dies

Earl R. Settles, 80, of Rushville, died at Culbertson hospital at 8:25 p.m. Thursday. He had been a patient since May 29.

Funeral services were conducted by the Rev. Donald Williams and the Rev. Earl Stambaugh at 3 p.m. Saturday at the Roby Funeral Chapel. Burial was in Rushville Cemetery.

Mr. Settles was born in Schuyler County Feb. 13, 1890, the son of Logan and Nola Robeson Settles. He married Alma Parker at Rushville Feb. 17, 1910, and she survives. A retired farmer, he was a member of the First Methodist Church in Rushville.

Besides his widow, he is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Freeman Leezer of Ashland, Faye Settles of Rushville and Mrs. Orville Trone of Rushville; one son, Paul Settles of Lewistown; a brother, Manford Settles of Industry; one sister, Mrs. Frank Goodin of Abingdon; 14 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren. Three brothers and one sister died previously.
