Jerry Robertson

Jerry A. Robertson, 55, of Astoria died at 9:37 a.m. Aug. 11, 2010, at his home.

He was born Sept. 15, 1954, in Rushville, a son of Edmon “Cotton” and Mary Josephine Smith Robertson. He married Rebecca Fawcett in July of 1974, in Astoria. He later married Cheryl Young on Dec. 22, 1984, in Astoria. She survives.

Also surviving are three daughters, Jessica (and Rich Torno) Robertson of Phoenix, Ariz., Heather (and Brad Willey) Robertson of Prairie City and Kari Robertson at home; one son, Daniel (and Christina) Robertson of Sullivan, Mo.; three sisters, Phyllis (and Robert) Pilger and Sandy (and Yogi) Hamlin, both of Browning and Brenda (and David) Spencer of Vermont; two brothers, Donnie Robertson of Browning and Tim (and Stacie) Robertson of Hannibal, Mo.; and three grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He was a furnace operator at Caterpillar in Mapleton for 35 years, retiring in 2009.

He was a member of Grace Bible Church in Astoria where he served as Church Board chairman and junior high youth leader.

Services were held Saturday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Pat Clements officiating. Burial was in Ridgeville Cemetery in Browning.

Memorials may be made to Jerry Robertson Memorial Fund in care of Farmers State Bank in Astoria.
