Edmon Robertson

Edmon E. “Cotton” Robertson, 72, of rural Browning, died at 4:36 p.m. Friday, March 8, 1996, at Culbertson Memorial Hospital in Rushville.

He was born Oct. 20, 1923, in Browning Township, Schuyler County, the son of Dwight E. and Bessie Stroops Robertson. He married Mary J. Smith on June 11, 1950, in Rushville. She survives.

Also surviving are three daughters, Phyllis Pilger and Sandra Hamlin, both of Browning, and Brenda Spencer of Astoria; three sons, Jerry Robertson of Astoria, Donnie Robertson of Browning and Tim Robertson of Hannibal, Mo.; one brother, Marvin Robertson of Rushville; 14 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

One grandson preceded him in death.

A member of the Schuyler County Farm Bureau, he farmed in the Browning area all his life.

Funeral services were held Tuesday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Collis Trone officiating. Burial was in Ridgeville Cemetery in Browning.
