Wayne Rogers

Wayne D. Rogers, 86, of Marshfield, Mo., died at 7:10 a.m. July 28, 2006, at Marshfield Care Center.

He was born Dec. 6, 1919, in Bushnell, a son of Carl Henry and Irma Belle Coney Rogers. He married Doris Ilene France on April 7, 1947, in Olathe, Kan. She died Dec. 15, 2001.

Also preceding him in death were his first wife, Lorraine; one son, Dickie Jo; one stepdaughter, Janet Avripas; one brother, Lawrence; and six sisters, Beulah Jacobson, Imogene Heston, Carlena Gerard, Martha Rogers, Katherine Grimmer and Mary Easley.

Surviving are two sons, Tommy of Galesburg and Delbert of New York, N.Y.; one daughter, Pauline (and Jerry) McDonald of Bushnell; one stepson, Ted J. (and Sherri) Clarke of Marshfield; two sisters, Marjorie Thompson and Bea (and Charles) Fewkes, both of Lewistown; 20 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

He was in the United States Army Infantry during World War II, serving in Italy as a motor pool mechanic.

He worked at Lock's Ford in Astoria and Canton for 50 years.

He was a member of Church of Christ in Marshfield.

Services were held Tuesday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Ted Clarke and Brad Clarke officiating. Burial was in Astoria Cemetery.
