Donald Riggins

Donald J. “Bud” Riggins, 64, of Macomb, died at 12:35 p.m. Saturday, July 18, 1998, at McDonough District Hospital.

He was born Aug. 14, 1933, in Macomb, a son of John and Grace Foster Riggins. He was first married to Joan Badger. He later married Mary Wyatt Fowler on Feb. 14, 1985. She survives.

Also surviving are his mother of Vermont; one daughter, Susan Riggins Long of Macomb; one son, David of Galesburg; one stepdaughter, Tamara Fowler Asher of Oscaloosa, Iowa; two stepsons, Thomas Fowler of Plymouth and Jon Fowler of Bushnell; two sisters, Donna Riggins Miller of Vermont and Patricia Riggins Fugate of Industry; five grandchildren; and nine stepgrandchildren.

His father; one infant daughter, Mary Riggins; one sister; and one brother preceded him in death.

He worked in construction for 40 years and served as a business agent for Laborers Local 991 in Macomb.

He attended Bushnell Assembly of God Church where services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday. The Rev. Stephen Storms will officiate. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Sargent-Worthington Funeral Home. Burial will be in Camp Creek Cemetery south of Macomb.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
