Erma M. Remmers, 77, of Summum, died at 7:18 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 7, 1996, at Graham Hospital in Canton.
She was born Feb. 2, 1919, in Muncie, Ind., a daughter of Arthur and Lola Belle (Dyke) Moore. She married Wilbert F. Remmers on July 3, 1936, in Pekin. He preceded her in death on April 9, 1993.
She is survived by two daughters, Lola Lawson of Summum and Sharon Smith of Ipava; one son, George Remmers of Springfield, Ohio; seven grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and two step-grandchildren; three sisters, Betty Conway of Camden, Louise Blaine of Galesburg and Marjorie Simpson of Vermont; and one brother, Melvin Moore of California.
She was preceded in death by one son, one grandson and four brothers.
Mrs. Remmers was a member of the Summum Christian Church and was employed at the Peoria State Hospital.
Funeral services were held Sunday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Rev. Tim Worstell officiating. Burial was in the Summum Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Summum Christian Church or the Spoon River Hospice program.
