She was born April 3, 1938, a daughter of Wilbert and Erma Moore Remmers.
Surviving are three daughters, Kathy (and Dennis) Anderson of Madisonville, Tenn., Felicia (and Todd) Duncan of Astoria and Amber (and Ken Pierce) Lawson of Norwood; one sister, Sharon (and Don) Smith of Ipava; 10 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sons, Aaron and John Lawson; one granddaughter, Jessica Fisher; and one brother, George Remmers.
She worked at the Peoria State Hospital, the Astoria Nursing Healthcare Center, the Lewistown IGA Deli and did home care for several families in surrounding counties.
She was a member of Summum Christian Church, Astoria American Legion Women’s Auxiliary, the COM Amigos Club in Pekin and the Pirate Booster Club.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at her church with Pastor Darrin Fish officiating. Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. Friday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria. Burial will be in Astoria Cemetery.
