Alva Roudebush of Rushville Dies

Alva Roudebush, 92, of Rushville, a lifelong Schuyler County farmer, died at 10:53 a.m. Friday, July 13, 1990, at Culbertson Hospital in Rushville.

He was born Nov. 27, 1897 in Rushville Township, the son of Jonathan M. and Nora M. (Fulk) Roudebush. He married Freeda M. Montooth of Astoria Aug. 20, 1919. She died March 31, 1982.

Surviving are one son, Robert Roudebush of Rushville; three daughters, Geraldine Toland and Louise Agans, both of Rushville, and Betty Bader of Morrisonville, Wisc.; 15 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one son, Richard, one great-grandson, four brothers and three sisters.

He retired from farming in 1964 and served for many years as Rushville Township Assessor until 1979.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Worthington Funeral Home in Rushville with Collis Trone in charge. Burial was in Rushville City Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Culbertson Long Term Care facility.
