Bruce D. Raker, 78, of Summum, owner and operator of Illinois Advertisers Co., died at 5:40 a.m. Thursday, June 21, 1979, at the Queenwood Convalescent Home in Morton.
He was born Feb. 3, 1901, in Fulton County, the son of John and Abbie Fast Raker. He married Jennie C. Deary, Feb. 15, 1930, in Galesburg. She survives.
Other survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Carol Purple of Metamora; two grandchildren; one brother, Rev. W. C. Raker of Lewistown; four sisters, Mrs. John (Mary) Deal of Peoria, Mrs. Flossie Linn of Peoria, Rev. Alma Sharp of Rantoul and Mrs. Carrie Arnett of Canton. He was preceded in death by five sisters.
Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Collis Trone officiating. Burial was in the Summum Cemetery.
