REV. WILMER CLARENCE “BUD” RAKER

The Rev. W.C. "Bud" Raker, 88, of Lewistown died at 5:55 p.m. Sunday, May 5, 2002, at Astoria Manor in Astoria.

He was born June 12, 1913, in Maples Mill, a son of John and Abby Fast Raker. He married Mary Bowman on May 9, 1939, in Montrose, Iowa. She survives.

Also surviving are one daughter, Kathleen (and Larry) Williams of Lewistown; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and his twin sister, Wilma Sharpe of Lewistown.

One brother and eight sisters preceded him in death.

A retired minister, he served several central Illinois churches and was well known in this area for his tent revivals. During his life and his 65-year ministry, he and his wife were involved in mission and evangelism work in this country and abroad.

He was a member of the Northwestern Illinois District of Church of the Nazarene.

Services will be held today at 11 a.m. at the Lewistown Church of the Nazarene with Rev. Phillip Riley officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery in Lewistown. Henry-Lange Memorial Home in Lewistown is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be made to Lewistown Church of the Nazarene, Lewistown Rescue Squad or Spoon River Hospice Association.
