Astorian’s Brother Dies In Peoria

George Lewis Ray, 83, of Peoria, died in a hospital there early Wednesday morning after suffering a heart attack.

Mr. Ray was born near Sheldons Grove in 1876, a son of Adam and Mellicia Ray and had lived in Peoria 55 years. He married Minnie McDaniels in 1906 who survives.

Other survivors include one brother, John Ray; one sister, Mrs. Zelma Curless, both of Astoria; a grandson, George Ray of Peoria; and a number of nieces and nephews. One son, Kenneth, preceded him in death.

Funeral services were held Friday afternoon in the Cumerford Endsley Memorial Home with burial in Parkview cemetery, Peoria.
